Why the Accelerated Golf Tour?

After consulting with college golf coaches, it was clear there was a void in existing Junior Golf Programs and Tournaments. College coaches are looking for opportunities to evaluate potential scholarship recipients, but the limited number of two-day competitions makes it difficult. Coaches are looking to observe players' skills and temperament for consistency over multiple days in varying playing conditions.

How important is the course selection and course set up?

Vital. Simply put, the way the golf course is set up for Accelerated Golf Tour events will replicate the playing conditions experienced in college golf. College Golf Coaches are looking to evaluate players on championship venues, playing championship distances and that is exactly what they will get when attending an Accelerated Golf Tour event.

Who is behind the Accelerated Golf Tour?

It's essentially a who's-who in golf administration leading the Accelerated Golf Tour. Carol Fromuth has been active in Junior Golf for forty years at every level from local private clubs, coaching boys and girls high school programs and serving as Junior Golf Director for the Missouri Women's Golf Association. Fromuth is also a member of the USGA Junior Girls Championship Committee. As past a president of the Women's Trans National Golf Association and rules official at the Women's NCAA Division I Finals, Fromuth has seen firsthand the top players in the country. Most recently Fromuth served the Gateway Section of the PGA as the Director of Junior Golf where she conducted over 100 tournaments annually for golfers of all skill levels.

Jim Neiderkorn will serve the Accelerated Golf Tour as the Director of Tournament Operations. Neiderkorn spent over 20 years administering golf tournaments for the Gateway Section. Additionally, Neiderkorn spent 15 season as the Men's Golf Coach at the University of Missouri-St. Louis where led multiple teams to the Division II National Championship Tournament.

Mary Lou LaPlaunt will handle the tournament publicity for the Accelerated Golf Tour. As important as it is for players participating in Accelerated Golf Tour events to succeed, it's equally important people know about their accomplishment. LaPlaunt is an experienced public relations professional prepared to tell the story of the Accelerated Golf Tour.

Pat Will will handle the day to day web site duties, making sure participants and sponsors of the Accelerated Golf Tour are kept informed of the tournament schedule and results.
