November 15, 2008 - Q-School is considered to be the most grueling test of golf and golf tournament in the world. Each stage presents a different set of challengers, a different golf course and the best golfers in the world not already on an established Tour in the field.

St. Louisan Jay Delsing fired a three-under 69 in third round action Friday at the PGA Tour Q School Stage 2 qualifying at Callaway Gardens' Mountain View Course in Pine Mountain, Ga. The round gave Delsing a three-round total of 8-under 208, good for a tie for 18th.

Far Hills, N.J. (Nov. 3) - Jim Holtgrieve, whose stellar amateur career includes a winning record as a player on three victorious USA Walker Cup teams and an individual triumph at the inaugural 1981 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, has been chosen by the United States Golf Association to be the captain of the 2011 USA Walker Cup squad.

Although the Fighting Illini didn't close the fall season as they would have hoped, they aren't going to let that damped what has been an historic fall for the program. Illinois won three straight tournaments for the first time in 20 years and entered the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational ranked number one in the Golfstat rankings and number four in the coaches' poll, but had trouble gaining momentum all tournament.
