Physical Fitness and Golf
Recently, I took a trip to visit the Titleist Performance Institute. Where I had my golf swing video taped and then had some physical testing done. I was amazed to find out that some of my own golf swing issues that I have been trying to fix are a result of physical and mobility issues. These issues included strength in certain areas of my body, physical mobility as it related to the golf swing and everyday movements, and flexibility.
With this in mind, and as we try to improve our golf games we also may need to improve some physical fitness issues as well. Now not all golf swing flaws can be fixed by this we still must understand the fundamentals of the golf swing and improve the sequence as it related to improving ball flight. Because the number one issue in golf is getting the golf ball to go where we are looking and have the desired flight we envision and ultimately get the golf ball in the hole.
It is very important that we understand that sometimes our body does not allow us to get into some fundamental golf positions and improving a little bit of our fitness can ultimately help our golf swing and our health.
