The
Missouri Fore State Team has been chosen from players with top scores at the
2009 Missouri Women's Amateur Championship and past playing performance in
Missouri Women's Golf Association Championships. The 14th Fore State
Championship will be held at Auburn Hills Golf Course in Wichita, KS with teams
representing Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. Oklahoma won last year's
championship tying Missouri for six overall titles. (Missouri's last win was
2006). The tournament is a team match play format and will be played during
August 10-11th with a practice round on August 9th.

1. Chelsea Shriewer, St. Charles - Last year's Fore State Team member
won the 2009 Missouri Women's Amateur Champion for the second consecutive year.
Chelsea tied the women's course record at The Club at Old Hawthorne of 66 that
included a hole in one. She qualified for the U.S. Women's Amateur this year
and finishes her career at the University of Missouri Women's Golf Team with
plans to pursue professional golf.
2. Alisha Matthews, St. Louis - The 2009 Missouri Women's Amateur
Runner Up is a sophomore at Southern Illinois Carbondale University and had the
lowest stroke average on her team last year. Alisha was tied with Chelsea
Schriewer after the second round of the 2009 MO Women's Amateur. Alisha is also
a past victorious Junior Four State Team member.
3. Kelly Osborne, Ballwin - A member of the 2008 Fore State Team,
Kelly took third place in the Missouri Women's Amateur in 2008 at Osage
National and is transferring from Penn State to the University of Missouri this
fall.
4. Carolyn Schorgl, Leawood, KS - A 2008 Fore State team member
returns entering her sophomore year at the University of Nebraska. A member of
the 2007 MO Junior Girls Four State Team, Carolyn took medalist honors that year
and also won the Missouri AJGA Qualifier.
5. Lindsey Haupt, St. Louis - Lindsey returns to the team this year
and is a Junior at the University of Missouri. She has a history of going low
at any time, winning the Peg Ludlow Award at the 2006 MO Women's Amateur for low
Junior and also led the tournament after the second round at The Club at Porto
Cima.
6. Kelsey Meyer, Chesterfield - This 2006 Missouri Junior Champion
plays at the University of Missouri and was one of the team members from Forest
Hills Country Club that took home the 2009 Team Trophy along with Kristen Hamel
at the Missouri Women's Amateur this year.
7. Kathy Glennon, St. Albans - Previous Fore State team member is
also a consistent past club champion at the Country Club at St. Albans. Kathy
received the 2009 Overall Low Gross Trophy at Bellerive CC at The Tournament of
a Lifetime sponsored by the St. Louis Women's District Golf Association.
8. Kristen Hamel, Chesterfield - Plays golf for the College of
William and Mary and will be a sophomore this year. She is the second woman to
break 70 playing for the Tribe last year. Kristen was a member of the
2008 Junior Girls Four State Team that defended the title for a fourth
consecutive year.
9. Katrina Choate, Fenton - A Drury University sophomore who finished
tied for third place at the 2009 MO Women's Amateur Championship and is majoring
in education and mathematics.
10. Mary
Kate Bird, Kansas City, MO - A junior at the University of Nebraska, Mary
Kate was the 2007 Low Junior at the MO Women's Amateur Championship at
Meadowbrook and was medalist at the 2006 Junior Four State Team
Championship.
The Missouri Women's Golf Association
has also chosen players that will represent Missouri in the USGA Women's Team
Championship during Sept 1-3 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
