No more football as the New Orleans Saints ended the 2009 NFL season with an impressive performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV. So golf is now front and center and there is no better place to refocus on the game of golf than Pebble Beach as the world's best players congregate on the Monterey Peninsula for the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Dustin Johnson, J.B. Holmes and Paul Goydos are playing great golf early in the season and it's not unusual to see tour players make the majority of their season's money in a three to four week period of time. A player gets hot, the hole looks bigger and they have control over their golf ball and good things happen. Watch for D. Johnson to stay hot and join Mark O'Meara in the select group of back to back winners at Pebble Beach.
Our trip to Miami was amazing as we awarded the 2009 World Champions of Fantasy Football their $300,000. Suzy Kolber of ESPN was kind enough to invite us to watch Sportscenter on the set as Donovan McNabb, Steve Young and Steve Levy hosted the show on South Beach leading up to the big game. Three days on radio row provided for plenty of opportunity to meet and greet celebrities from the world of entertainment and sports. Snoop Dogg, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Maurice Jones-Drew, Devin Hester, Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr. and so many others shared the spotlight with the 2009 WCOFF Main Event Champs.
David Duval has positioned himself one shot out of the lead after 36 holes at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He will be on the Monterey CC Shore Course on Saturday, presenting the easiest opportunity to score of the three courses the players will play this week. If Duval can post a 67 or 68 he is going to find himself front and center on Sunday at Pebble with a chance to win for the first time since his British Open Victory in 2001.
No Woods and no Mickelson next week at the Accenture Match Play Championship. #2 in the world, Steve Stricker and a former champion of this event, will represent the #1 seed of the 64 players looking to survive the marathon that becomes the Accenture Match Play Championship.
