Everybody
loves to pack the car and head out on a road trip to play golf. Most of
us have taken a golf trip to the lake or maybe even down to Springfield,
but if you want to go just a bit further let me recommend Patricia
Island Golf resort in Grove OK. www.patriciaisland.com. I want
to thank Andy Steward and his incredibly friendly staff for inviting
the Golfers Network down to Grove to enjoy the Patricia Island golf
package.
Let’s start
with the obvious, where is Grove OK? Closer than you think actually, it
is less than 5 hours from St. Louis straight down I-44. Once you get to
Oklahoma you are only 30 minutes from the course.
The course
is beautiful; it is an 18 hole championship course custom designed by
Tripp Davis. Beautifully situated on Grand Lake, true risk/reward
decision making is designed into each hole and the greens are perfectly
manicured to test your putting ability. Before you tee off you can hit
their practice facility that includes: a driving range with target
greens, a chipping green with two sand traps, and a large putting green
maintained each day like the tour quality greens on the course.
The front
nine is easier than the back but don’t let that confuse you. The course
is flat and the fairways are very generous but you MUST keep it in the
short grass. The rough is truly a penalty and wayward driving will make
for a very long day. The course also features several bunkers that
placed in the fairways and around the greens. Accuracy is the key, short
and long hitters can score here as long as you keep it straight.
Golf is only
part of the experience that is offered to you in the Patricia Island
golf package. For only $99 per person you will receive:
- 2 rounds of golf with cart
(1 round per person)
- 1 night, double occupancy
at one offivelocal hotels
- $30 dining credit at the
End Zone Restaurant
- $100 in gambling credits at
Grand Lake Casino ($50 each)
Friends that
is truly a GREAT DEAL!
The Golfers
Network again wants to thank Andy Stewart and his staff for making us
feels like part of the family on our trip to Patricia Island. I can’t
say it enough, plan a weekend and go down to Grove and enjoy Golf,
Gambling and Great Food. You’ll be glad you did.
