As Memorial Day weekend approaches, let's first and foremost say thank you to the Men and Women of our Armed Forces. While you are enjoying a round of golf on Monday, take a minute to reflect on the people who provide us the security and freedom we too often take for granted.

Speaking of Senior Players, the Missouri Golf Association held the Missouri Senior Four-Ball Championship at WingHaven Country Club this week. David Johnson and Kent Dinsdale captured the title with an 12 under par total for the 36 hole tournament. BJ Curry and Joe Bellmer tied with reigning Missouri Senior Player of the Year, Steve Groom and Andy Smith at 11 under par.
Last week's Normandie Amateur Champion, Andy Frost and his partner Andy Fogarty rebounded afte a disappointing first round 71 to post a 65 on day two for a 5th place finish. To view the complete field results - Go HERE.
The Missouri Golf Association is gearing up for a big week of Qualifying for this year's Missouri Amateur Championship being contested at Dalhousie Golf Club later in June. Qualifyings are being held at Millwood GC in Ozark, MO on May 29th, Golf Club at Creekmoor in Raymore on May 30th, CC of the Legends on May 31st, Old Hawthorne in Columbia on June 1st and Westwood Hills CC in Poplar Bluff on June 6th. A Last Chance Qualifier will be held on June 11th for players unsuccessful in their original qualifying tournament. St. Louis natives or players with a connection to the area are in action on the EGolf Professional Tour this week in the Carolinas. Peter Malnati (MU Grad), Adam Long (Francis Howell), Zach Barlow (Illinois Grad), Jason Schultz (MU Grad) and Shawn Jasper (MU Grad) all made the cut. St. Louis' Allison Micheletti advanced past week 2 of Golf Channel's Big Break Atlantis. Allison found herself in the elimination challenge Texan, Shannon Fish.
