US Senior Open Qualifying may be the hardest USGA Championship to qualify for! Forty-four Senior golfers will play Monday, July 6th at Meadowbrook CC in Ballwin, MO for 1 spot in the US Senior Open.

The 2009 US Senior Open Championship will be played July 30-August 2 at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, IN.

2008 Metropolitan Amateur Senior Player of the Year, Scott Thomas is in the field and tees off at 8:40am. Thomas will be attempting to qualify for the Senior Open on his home course at Meadowbrook Country Club. Paired with Thomas is Paul Trittler, coming back in town from his post in Arizona.

The 8:20 tee time is power packed with Jim Holtgrieve, David Lucks and Rob Long of Clarksville, TN. St. Louis golfers are very familiar with Long from his US Amateur Public Links qualifying days when Long dominated the USAPL qualifying in St. Louis in the mid 90's.

Brian Fogt, Steve Lotz and John Hayes are also in the field competing for the one spot at the U.S. Senior Open. Lotz, Fogt and Hayes are regarded as three of the top Gateway PGA Professionals in the Section.
