Jeff Johnson of Bogey Hills Country Club is off to a fast start to his 2010 golf season.  After a solid finish at the Ozark Amateur played in late April, Johnson wasn't going to let someone else pull down the top honor.  Johnson posted an impressive 71 to win by five shots at the 2010 STLDGA Bob Cochran Mid Amateur Championship at Fox Run Golf Club on Monday.

Fox Run Golf Club Member, Ted Moloney, a past champion of this event finished at 76 along with Chad Niezing of Fores Hills Country Club.  Jim Mitchell, Brian Hall and John Anderson all finished with 77.  Darren Lundgren was the only other player to post a sub 80 score on the difficult Fox Run Golf Club in very difficult conditions.

Many of these top amateur golfers have a busy week ahead with the U.S. Open Local Qualifying on Thursday at WingHaven Country Club and Metropolitan Amateur Match Play Championship at Old Warson on Saturday and Sunday.
