After a perfect day on Tuesday for Round 1 of the US Amateur Public Links Qualifying at Gateway National Golf Links, Mother Nature played a not so kind hand for Round 2. The day began with a 2 hour and 10 minute delay to start and then looked like a good day was ahead. However, just after 3pm the storms would crossed the Mississippi and caused the final round of this years United States Amateur Public Links qualifying to finish with minutes of daylight remaining.

Phil Caravia (Columbia, IL) and Nathan Hughes (Bartlesville, OK), 2010 US APL Qualifier here in St. Louis, emerged as co-medalists shooting 1-under par 141. Playing together in the final group, the twosome knew exactly where each other stood over what would amount to a 8 hour plus round. The third and final qualifier was University of Missouri-St. Louis graduate, Tim Cochran (Des Peres, MO) who would finish his round almost 3 hours earlier at 144.

The 2011 US Amateur Public Links Championship will take place June 27-July 2 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon.
