SENIOR SERIES POLICIES & PROCEDURES

HANDICAP POLICY__________________________

Starting in 2012 the Missouri Golf Association will impose a new policy for the Senior Series Tour for the Net Divisions.

The past few years we have had a few net scores week in and week out continually to be well under USGA Course rating.  Yes, this can happen for everyone on an occasion; however, it should not happen very often.  So, with that being said the MGA staff is going to follow the guidelines stipulated in the USGA Handicap System to help us solve this issue going forward.

Section 9-2 - The Handicap Index to be used at the start of the competition must be determined by the committee in charge of the competition.  The USGA recommends that the committee require use of a handicap Index in effect on the date the competition commences.  The committee may, in exceptional, individual case, modify a player’s Course handicap before or between rounds of the competition; however, a player’s handicap Index can only be adjusted by the players Handicap Committee (See Section 8-4c)

We will be using the Handicap Index Formula under Section 10 in the USGA Handicap System Manual.  I am very confident that this method will help with the issue and make everyone feel at ease each time he starts an event.  We will continue to designate senior series competition scores as Tournament Scores and Section 10-3 may apply.

PACE OF PLAY POLICY__________________________

Based on the survey results, comments made by you and discussions in house the following policies will be implemented in 2012.

The MGA staff will pay closer attention to how the course is set up before the event. (Tee locations and pin locations)

The MGA staff will be putting pace of play on the score card for each event. This will be used as a guide as to where a player needs to be at any given hole.

The MGA will monitor pace based on the pace of play on the score card. The first time the group is off pace there will be a warning and the second time will be a one stroke penalty for each player in the group.

RESCHEDULED EVENT (S)
If you are registered for an event and the MGA has to change a venue and or a date, you will automatically be entered into the new event date and location. All cancellation policies will apply.

REFUNDS/CANCELLATIONS - Entry fees will not be refunded after the close of entries. Cancellations before the close of entries will be refunded less a $15 fee.  All returned checks will be charged a fee of $35.

WITHDRAW POLICY

You will be allowed to switch a maximum of two events a season without penalty IF done before the deadline date.

Example: if you registered for the Cape Girardeau event and the Dalhousie event and you have to cancel, you are allowed to switch those to another venue without any penalty. IF done before the tournament deadline date.
