The MGA mission is to provide an opportunity for junior golfers to play competitive golf, and provide an ongoing rules education and etiquette program designed to enhance their love and appreciation of the game.

Tournament Highlights for 2010

Hieronymus Junior Series Events
There is a one time membership fee for all Junior Series Players plus the entry fee.
The MGA strives to offer all Junior golfers (male and female ages 10-18) the opportunity to compete. Because of that we have expanded the number of venues for junior golfers to compete around the State. There are now eleven one day events.

Also, in 2010 will be our first Series Championship. To be eligible to play in the Championship, the player has to have played in at least three series events and it will be based on the points accumlated from these events. See point standings link above for the point system.

Junior Amateur
We are returning to Paradise Pointe! We are so excited about this. Paradise Pointe was a very popular venue a couple of years ago and golfers have expressed interests in going back. We hope that you can join us in Smithville on July 5-7. Smithville is north of Kansas City about 15 minutes east of the airport.

Again in 2010, if you finish as the Junior Amateur Champion you are exempt in 2 American Junior Golf Associaiton (AJGA) events or if you finish in the top ten you are exempt in 1 AJGA event.

Junior Match Play
We hope that you can join us in Branson for the 2010 Junior Match Play event. We are truly very appreciative to have such a great venue like Murder Rock to host this years event. And to host a junior event in Branson is fun for the whole family. If you have not had a chance to play this wonderful course we hope that your schedule allows you to this year.  As we have said many times before, the match play format is not the most common format players experience in today’s golf tournament, as it offers different mental challenges than medal play and some players do not like this format.  To become a good tournament player, a golfer needs to be mentally tough and there is no greater test of mental toughness than match play.  We encourage all the juniors, ages 14 – 18 to participate in this years Junior Match Play Championship.  Also, the MGA is looking into the possibility of taking a team of four from Missouri to the 2010 Junior Americas Cup in Port St. Lucie, Florida with members comprised of players from the Junior Match Play Championship, so watch the website for an official announcement.
