MGA Regional College Preview
Jefferson City Country Club
October 17-18

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Oct. 18) – It's not often that a golf team is glad to have an 81 for a score, but that was the case for Central Oklahoma here Tuesday and it resulted in another tournament championship for the Bronchos.

UCO and St. Edward's ended up tied for first in the Missouri Golf Association Regional College Preview with 892 totals, forcing the tournament to be decided by the tiebreaker of using the fifth player's score in the final round.  That's where the Bronchos took the title, with an 81 by
Baer Aneshansley
beating out an 82 by SEU's Santiago Quintero.

It was the fourth tournament crown in four tries this fall for UCO.

The Bronchos trailed SEU by two shots after Monday's 36-hole day, shooting 296-287 at the par-72 Jefferson City Country Club.  UCO closed with a season-high 309 as high winds and cold weather caused scores to skyrocket, but it was good enough to move into a tie and forced the tiebreaker after Hilltoppers shot a 311.

Washburn finished third in the 13-team tournament at 897, while Midwestern State and Central Missouri tied for fourth at 902.

Josh Creel led the Bronchos in the final round with a two-over 74 that tied for the third-lowest score of the day. Dillon Rust shot 77, while Andrew Green
and Landon Morgan had 79s and Aneshansley the 81.

Green finished a team-best fourth in the individual standings with a two-over 218 total after making eight birdies Monday in shooting 67-72.  Rush tied for 13th at 224 with a 76-71 on the first day and Creel tied for 18th at 225 following a 78-73 start to the tournament.

Chris Muriana competed as an individual medalist and finished 24th after tying Creel's 74 in the final round.

UCO ends the fall season in two weeks at the Lion Fall Classic in The Colony, Texas.
