TOP 100 PLACES TO LIVE IN 2009 REVEALED

Pronghorn in Bend, Oregon Ranks No. 1
on List of Best U.S. Golf Communities


New York, NY (January 2009) – Pronghorn is named the Best U.S. Golf Community of 2009, moving up from its No. 8 ranking on last year’s list. Palmetto Bluff, Bluffton, South Carolina and Santa Lucia Preserve, Carmel, California rank number two and three, respectively, on Travel + Leisure Golf’s fourth annual list of America’s Top 100 Golf Communities 2009, selected by the editors and featured in the magazine’s January/February issue on newsstands now and online at www.tlgolf.com. Ten communities including Cornerstone, Montrose, CO, The Bay Club,  Mattapoisett, MA, and Pine Canyon, Flagstaff, AZ are newcomers to the list this year.

The list is compiled by Travel + Leisure Golf  editors and each property is reviewed in the following six categories, in order of importance: golf amenity; residential architecture and style; location, including natural setting and proximity to cultural activities; management, service and programming options; non-golf amenities, such as a full service spa, equestrian center or marina; and environmental stewardship. A concern for residential asset value, implicit in the previous years’ rankings, is of heightened value in editors’ deliberations for 2009.
