Springfield, MO - March 24, 2009 - Highland Springs Country Club has hosted a variety of professional and amateur championships, including the Nationwide Tour and Missouri Golf Association Amateur events.  This past week, it was the state's top college players that teed it up on one of the state's premier championship golf courses.

The 54-hole championship was shortened to 36 holes after mother nature took control of the tournament.  Central Missouri State University maintained a one shot lead over host, Drury University, after 36 holes and as a result took home the team title with a team score of 648.  The wind was the lead story at the 2009 Pasta House Invitational, causing scores to skyrocket.

Missouri Southern University finished in 3rd place, three shots behind 2nd place Drury.  West Texas A&M posted a team score of 654 to finish 4th.  Missouri Western and Southwest Baptist tied for 6th and Missouri-St. Louis finished 8th.  Rockhurst University finished in 9th place, 5 shots ahead of 10th place Truman State University.

Brandon Holub (West Texas A&M) and Jared King (CMSU) tied for the individual medalist honors at 8 over par, 152.
