The second and final round of the stroke play portion of the Missouri Amateur Championship concludes today and the top 64 players will advance to match play beginning tomorrow morning. The weather at WingHaven Country Club in O'Fallon, MO was as perfect as could be expected as the wind was mild and the course played dry and fast.
Drew Lethem of Camdenton, MO backed up his opening round 68 with a very solid 70 and looks to be in good position for medalist honors midway through the second round. Skip Berkmeyer of St. Louis fired the days best score with a 67 to end up one back of Lethem. "Of course you would like to take medalist honors, but the ultimate goal is to make Match Play, where anything can happen," commented Berkmeyer.
Several players shot good second rounds to ensure their place in the top 64 for match play on Thursday. Scotty McClellan (74-71 - 145), Brian Haskell (72-71 - 143), Jesse Helms (75-69 - 144), Matt Hines (79-74 - 144) and Ted Moloney (72-71 - 143).
Full field scores available after 7:00 p.m.
