Wisconsin Parkside started the final round of the Tritons Invitational 6 shots behind first round leader Bellarmine University.  After an even par score of 288 in round one, Wisconsin Parkside expected to need an equally good day of golf if they were to chase down Bellarmine.

It took a little help from Bellarmine over the last three holes of the 36 holes competition, but Wisconsin Parkside backed up their even par first round with a 2-over (290) score in round two to tie Bellarmine University for the tournament lead.  Bellarmine posted a team score of 296, 14 shots higher than their first round score of 282 (6 under).

The playoff format involved each team playing the first hole.  The low four scores of the five count towards the team total, with the fifth score serving as a tie breaker should it be necessary.  Wisconsin Parkside struck first with a birdie from their #5 player, Bellarmine made bogey.  Another birdie from Wisconsin Parkside in the second group gave them a three shot lead with only two players left to post scores.  Bellarmine's Kyle Leach made a birdie while both Wisconsin Parkside players had putts for par.  Brooks Herrick, the individual medalist of the tournament with a 4-under par total of 138, had an 8-foot putt for birdie to guarantee another playoff hole and his putt fell one roll shy of dropping.  The resulting par 4, meant only one of the two Wisconsin Parkside players had to hole their par putts to win the championship.  After a 3 putt by Mike Keller, Andrew Troyanek had to hole a 3 foot putt to win or else Bellarmine University would survive the comeback by Wisconsin Parkside and emerge as tournament champions.  Troyanek calmly holed the 3 foot putt and capped off what started as a 6 shot deficit when play began on Tuesday morning in the final round of the Tritons Invitational.

Missouri-St. Louis finished in 5th place after a second round 298 for a tournament total 592, trailing fourth place Lincoln University by 2 shots.  The highlight for the Tritons was the play of sophomore Tim Cochran who finished in a tie for 2nd place individually.
Also for the Tritons, sophomore Ryan Gunn tied for 11th place with a 72-73 145, while senior Matt Winslow tied for 16th (75-74 149). Sophomore Ryan Penfield (76-81 157) and senior J.R. Siracusa (77-80 157) tied for 37th.

Non-counting results for UMSL included junior Tim Swoboda (77-75 152, tie for 23rd), junior Ryan Higgins (79-79 158, 40th), senior Padraic Kerr (81-90 171, 44th) and senior Luigi Wewege (87-86 173, 45th).
