The Metropolitan Golf Association announced a last minute change of venue for their premier event, the Metropolitan Amateur Championship, on Thursday.  Scheduled to be played at St. Louis Country Club, the METGA was forced to consider alternate accomodations when STLCC plans to prepare the golf course for fairway re-grassing later this year snowballed into significant damage, rendering the golf course nearly unplayable.

Due to the situation, 2010 Tournament Host, Norwood Hills Country Club, has agreed to accelerate their commitment to host the event this year.  Norwood has already hosted the Missouri Senior Four Ball and the St. Louis District Championship in 2008 and will now add an unheard of third major amateur championship for the year.

A much anticipated venue, St. Louis Country Club will ideally be able to host a future Metropolitan Amateur Championship, but official plans have not yet been announced.

The Metropolitan Amateur Championship will be held August 7th - 9th.
