Cold, rainy weather drove up scores at the 2011 Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate on Monday, but Mizzou Golf standout Jace Long remained steady, shooting an even-par 72 to help the Tigers to a third place finish in Verona, N.Y.

Baylor claimed the event title by 11 shots over Texas Christian. The Horned Frogs were two strokes better than both Mizzou and Purdue, who tied for third. TCU's Julien Brun was the event's medalist. He finished 8-under-par, two shots better than teammate Daniel Jennevret (-6).

Long tied for seventh overall with a 2-under-par score of 214. The Dixon, Mo., native was steady all weekend, shooting 72-70-72 to better teammate Emilio Cuartero by one stroke. Cuartero shot a 2-over-par 74 on Monday, but still finished 1-under-par for the tournament and tied for 10th overall.

Brad Moody and Nick Wilson were both in the Top 20 individually. Moody opened the tournament with a 4-under-par 68 and shot 73-76 in his final two rounds to finish 13th. Wilson slipped to 18th on Monday after shooting a 77.

Columbia native Wilson Sundvold made his collegiate debut over the weekend, placing 58th. A second round 73 highlighted the weekend for the former Rock Bridge standout.

Mizzou Golf returns to action Sept. 12-13 at the University of Michigan Wolverine Intercollegiate in Ann Arbor, Mich.
