Little Junior Highlights
The Missouri Golf Association is proud to conduct the Little Juniors Tourament again this year. Our future, not only in golf, is our juniors and we are dedicated to making golf available to them and providing a positive experience to begin their competitive golf experiences.
This marks the 7th consecutive year for this event and is one of the highlights of the year for the staff at the MGA. There is no greater enjoyment than to see very young juniors playing golf and truly having a great time while competing. This event puts smiles on the faces of our staff that last for the rest of the summer and the pictures taken are constant reminders of why we love this event, the game of golf and the juniors who participate! This may not be our largest or most prestigious event, but it is by far the event we look to with the greatest anticipation of all the events we conduct.
The event features the play of 3 to 9 holes, with the younger players playing 3 holes and the older players playing 9 holes on an executive par 3 course. This year we will be conducting the tournament at two different venues. We will return to Perche Creek Golf Course in Columbia and back to to Turkey Creek Golf Complex, in Jefferson City. Players can play at one or both venues. Both events consists of chipping and putting contest for each age division and the exciting longest drive contest. All of us, no matter the age, love to see how far we can hit the golf ball and the participants are no different with this contest being their favorite. The clinic that is conducted is followed by lunch and the awards ceremony. Everyone leaves a winner including the parents and staff.
