2010 Hieronymus Junior Series
New in 2010--There is now a membership fee to play in the Hieronymus Series events beginning in 2010. The membership fee is $20 for the 2010 HJS, which is in addition to the tournament entry fees.
The Hieronymus Junior Series (HJS) is conducted by the Missouri Golf Association (MGA) in honor of the memory of Charles D. Hieronymus, a charter member of Sedalia Country Club and more importantly an advocate of junior golf in the State of Missouri. Through his generosity, the MGA conducts this series of one day events around the state for players age ten through eighteen as an opportunity to experience tournament golf while competing in their own age division. It is very important to allow players, especially in the younger age divisions, an opportunity to develop their skills and confidence in order to progress to the championship level.
The HJS is an ongoing tribute to Mr. Hieronymus and his passion for junior golf to be an avenue to learn the game, build character and develop an appreciation for the game. The MGA is proud to carry on in this mission and is dedicated to the promotion of junior golf. The HJS has been expanding since 2007 with the addition of a girls division and 2010 will see the series expanded to eleven events followed by a Championship to be held in Fulton at Tanglewood Golf Club.
Participation in the HJS Championship at the conclusion of the series will be based on points accumulated during the series and you must have played in at least 3 HJS events. The point system for the HJS in each age division will be as follows:
First Place 30 Points
Second Place 25 Points
Third Place 20 Points
Fourth Place 15 Points
Fifth Place 10 Points
Additionally, the Points for male golfers ages 14 – 18 will transfer to the overall Junior Points Standings for invitation to the Collegiate Preview Invitational Tournament in August.
