Monday, June 8 – 36 hole qualifier

Groupings & Starting Times

Starting times begin at 7:30 a.m. from the hole no. 1.  Players will be given 30 mintues between rounds for lunch.

 

Practice Round

A practice round is available to those competitors in the qualifier.  Your practice round may be played on 6/2 6/3, 6/4 (limited) or 6/7.  Tee time reservations may be made by calling (913) 432-1224.  The practice round is complimentary, however, you are responsible for any cart, practice range or food & beverage fees incurred during the practice round.

Lodging

There are numerous hotels in the area with a variety of rates.  To find what best suites your needs look online at http://www.visitkc.com.  The course is in the Johnson County Area and also is close to the Country Club Plaza.

 

Registration

Registration will be located in front of the Golf Shop’s the day of the qualifier. At registration, the Notice to Competitors, Hole Location sheet and Pace of Play Policy will be available. Important: Please report your starting tee no less than 5 minutes prior to your assigned starting time. There is no call to the tee; it is the player’s responsibility to arrive on time.

 

Food & Beverage

During the practice round dates, only reciprocal charges will be accepted for food and beverage purchases at the clubhouse. On the day of the qualifier, cash or reciprocal charges will be accepted for food and beverage purchases at the clubhouse. The club is typically closed on Monday’s, however we have arranged for a player salad/sandwich buffet to be available.  This buffet is provided complimentary to the players only.  The cost for the buffet for caddies and spectators is $12 per person

General Information

The Rules of the United States Golf Association govern play.  This information sheet, the USGA Rules hard card and any site-specific Local Rules and Conditions of Competition sheets are supplements to the Rules of Golf.  Local Rules of the host course do not apply.  The KCGA Rules and Competitions Committee, who are charged with conducting this site, shall settle all questions.  Reference to the Rules and Appendix I may be found in the 2008-09 Rules of Golf book.  Unless otherwise noted the penalty for breach of a Local Rule or Condition is:  2 Strokes.

 

Distance-Measuring Devices

The USGA DOES NOT permit the use of distance-measuring devices for its championships.

 

Pace of Play Guidelines and Procedures

This qualifying site uses the Check-Point System for Pace of Play.  The Check-Point System is based upon the requirement of all groups being in position at each check-point.  Players in a group out of position at a check-point are liable to the applicable penalty if the Committee determines the group or any player in the group was in breach of the pace of play guidelines.  Please review the pace of play guidelines and procedures that are mailed. 

 

Player/Caddie Carts

Golf carts are not permitted.  Pull/Push carts are allowed for the qualifier. 

 

Spectator Carts

USGA policy does not permit spectator carts.  There are not exceptions to this policy.

 

Caddies

Caddies are permitted, however you are responsible for making your own arrangements for a caddie.

 

Practice Range

The practice range opens one hour before the first starting time weather permitting.  Range balls will be set up at the practice range and are complimentary for competitors only before the stipulated round or a play-off.  Note:  Practice Range Balls are limited flight balls.

 

Qualifying Positions

The number of qualifying position will be posted when made public.  

 

Play-off

In the event of a tie for the qualifying place or the alternate positions, the players concerned shall compete in a hole-by-hole play-off.  The starting hole and time shall be announced at the scoreboard immediately after the Committee has verified the results of the qualifier. 

 

Withdrawals

Please contact the USGA if you need to withdraw.  If you need to withdraw any time after 5:00 on June 5, please call (913) 484-1844 and leave a message on the voicemail.

 

Attire & Conduct

Proper golf attire is required.  Blue jeans, designer jeans, tee shirts, and tank tops are prohibited.  Shorts must be mid-thigh.  Golf shirts with a traditional or mock collar are required.  The host club is a “spikeless facility.” 

 

Close of Competition

The qualifying competition shall be deemed to have closed when all scores have been returned and the committee has approved the results.
