PGA JUNIOR CAMP
Crystal Springs Quarry Golf Range /Gateway Golf Center Junior Golf Program
The Gateway PGA section offers junior golf camps to our beginning and advanced golfers. We want to continue to provide a good golf facility and an array of excellent golf teachers to continue building the best foundation for young athletes not only to improve as golfers but also to mature as individuals.
Gateway PGA Junior Camps will give junior golfers a unique opportunity to become better players by providing access to practice facilities, and a short game course. Camps will start in June, 2009, and will be offered to the following age groups: 6-9 and 10-17. The classes will run Monday through Friday. Each day's session will have classroom instruction, full swing instruction, and short game instruction (pitching, chipping, putting, and sand iron).
Each camp session will have a maximum of 18 students per class. The ratio of 1:6 will ensure plenty of individual instruction time. The camps will cover the golf swing from top to bottom, and will also stress golf etiquette and the rules of the game. If a camp day is cancelled due to weather conditions, the facility will announce their make-up policy.
Registration is open until camps are filled. No deadlines.
Definitions of level of golfers:
Beginner and Intermediate (Beg-Int)
0-2 years of golf experience
Advanced
Over 2 years of golf tournament experience; ready to work on course management
Developing a better short game, full swing and trouble shots
Excellent for high school golfer
Cost is based on the session chosen. Each camper will receive:
1. Instruction
2. Gateway membership card (This card will entitle each student to a discount of 20% on range balls for the 2009 season at Crystal Springs Quarry and Gateway Golf Center.)
3. Club fitting
4. Fun! They will learn a game that can be played for a lifetime
NOTE: All camps will be booked on a first-come basis. To avoid any disappointment, register early.
DIRECTIONS: Crystal Springs Quarry Golf Range: I-70 to Earth City Expressway South, 1.5 miles, Left on Marine, golf range on left; or I-270 to west on Dorsett, right on Marine, down hill past lake, golf range on right; or Olive to Creve Coeur Mill Road, 3.5 miles, right on Maryland Heights Expressway, right on Marine, golf range on left.
The Gateway Golf Center is located on the North Outer Road at Highway 40 and Boone's Crossing. (40/64 to Boone's Crossing Exit, west on North Outer Road)
