Springfield, MO - Twin Oaks Country Club - PGA Professional, Rich Britton, at Twin Oaks Country Club was quick to nominate Jay McBride as one of the tournament favorites heading into this weeks Missouri Amateur Championship. McBride, a senior at Missouri State University, is on staff at Twin Oaks Country Club and is expected to put his knowledge of the golf course to good use.

Springfield, MO - Twin Oaks CC - Last year it was Jace Long of the University of MIssouri who stole the show during the stroke play portion of the Missouri Amateur Championship scorching St. Joseph Country Club. This year, it's a different Tiger on top with William Harrold tied for the lead with Connor McHenry after a first round 66 at Twin Oaks Country Club.

It's OK to teach yourself. In the modern age of video analysis and Tiger's obvious understanding of the golf swing, he can definitely diagnosis his own faults and implement the necessary corrections. The time for this is on the range after a round or during a dedicated practice session when you aren't concerned about where the golf ball ends up. An hour before you are putting the ball in the air in competition, it's all about where the ball is going and nothing about fixing your golf swing.

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Scott Langley went out with a bang. The humble 21-year- old St. Louis amateur wrapped up a remarkable week at the U.S. Open by shooting par 71 on Sunday and tying Russell Henley as the low amateur.

It is true that performing the proper weight transfer during the golf swing is extremely crucial to maximizing your power and consistency. It is more important than most people believe. Before I began working with golfers and one of the top golf fitness gurus in the industry (Alison Thietje), I had no idea how important this seemingly insignificant factor impacts our swing. I knew that we wanted the body to create the motion and facilitate the proper sequence of events that ultimately resulted in our club striking the ball at maximum velocity and with pin point accuracy, but I didn't understand certain subtleties of the action.
