Springfield, MO - June 27 - It was the perfect ending to a very long and very hot week at Twin Oaks Country Club. A 36 hole final that went the distance before Brad Nurski could secure a 2 up victory over Matt Miller and win his first Missouri Golf Association major championship.

Springfield, MO - Twin Oaks CC - Brad Nurski, St. Joseph, MO will square off against Matt Miller, Eldon, MO for the Missouri Amateur Championship on Sunday Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, MO. Nurski defeated defending champion and 2-time past champion, Skip Berkmeyer to advance to his first Amateur final. Miller eliminated the last remaining local Springfield player in Kevin Kring to earn his spot alongside Nurski on Sunday.

As the talent pool of junior golfers continues to grow, it has become increasingly difficult to land a college golf scholarship. Junior golfers ranked in the top 20 or so nationally are naturally on every major college coach's radar, but what about the other guys? When you consider that the NCAA only allows Division I college golf programs to spread 4.5 scholarships across a roster of 10-15 guys, marketing yourself to stand out as a potential recruit is imperative.

Springfield, MO - June 25 - Over 160 players qualified from one of six different sites across the state of Missouri for the chance to compete for the 2010 Missouri Amateur Championship. Of the 160+ that showed up on Monday at Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, MO, only 64 put the ball in the air on Thursday as the format shifted from stroke play to match play.

Springfield, MO - Twin Oaks Country Club - The 2007 Missouri Amateur Champion was looking to join the select few accomplished players to win multiple state amateur titles this week at Twin Oaks Country Club. Coming off an impressive 8&7 victory in his first match on Thursday, McHenry looked to be one of the favorites as the championship made its way into the weekend.
