It's the holiday season and for many that means it's time to hit the malls, your favorite department store or in today's day and age, visit your favorite website to start purchasing gifts for your friends and family. And if that friend or family member is a golfer, you'll undoubtedly be inclined to purchase something they can appreciate while enjoying their favorite past time.

The University of Missouri St. Louis Mens golf team tied Drury University for first place at the Great Lakes Regional 2, but won the playoff hole to take home the trophy in the 15-team event hosted by the Tritons at Glen Echo Country Club Monday and Tuesday.

St. Louis' top golfers were honored on Thursday Night at the 17th Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association Player of the Year Awards Dinner at Old Warson Country Club. Just over 50 of the area's top golfers and golf leaders were in attendance to watch Scott Langley, Ellen Port, Scott Edwards and Barbara Berkmeyer (accepted by her son Skip) receive their recognition for earning Player of the Year in their respective categories.
