Ellen Port, a five-time USGA Champion will captain the 2014 Curtis Cup Team in the 38th playing of the Matches. "Ellen is one of the great USGA amateur champions of the modern era," said Dot Paluck, chairman of the USGA Women's Committee. "She has well represented the United States in past Curtis Cup Matches, and we are proud to have her as captain of the 2014 Team."

The United States Golf Association is making a change effective 2015 to their annual championship schedule. USGA Vice President and Championship Committee Chairman, Tom O'Toole Jr. alongside John Bodenhamer, Managing Director of Rules, Competitions and Equipment Standards appeared on Golf Channel's Morning Drive to announce the introduction of a U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship.

The University of Missouri Men's and Women's Golf programs received a gift that will keep on giving yesterday. Don Walsworth, an MU alumnus and CEO of the Walsworth Publishing Company Inc., is a former chairman of the University of Missouri Board of Curators. He says this gift is an opportunity for his family to give back to the university that has meant so much to them.

Collins, who hosts regular chats on ESPN.com each Monday and Friday throughout the golf season, spoke about Rory McIlroy, the importance of confidence in your equipment and the emergence of young players on the PGA Tour.

It's amazing how each and every year there's something new on the market to help us with our golf swings or putting strokes. It's almost impossible to keep track of every new training aid or teaching tool, but we're going to do our best to compile a list for golfers to access when they are in need of a little help with their games.

It's been a rough start for professional golf. The PGA Tour Hyundai Tournament of Champions needed multiple starts to get the tournament underway. Eventually the tournament was started on Monday and completed with 36 holes on Tuesday to get the minimum 54 holes in to make the tournament official by PGA Tour standards.

It's that time of the year when golfers are experience severe cabin fever. The Professionals are teeing it up in luxurious destinations like Hawaii and Palm Springs while most of America is scraping ice of their windshields in the morning. Such is the life of an average golfer who can't wait for Spring.
