The MGA's inaugural Club Team Championship, grew out of the USGA Men's State Team Championship. It is a new championship, one in which each club would be represented by one professional and three amateur golfers. Each club must be a member of the Missouri Golf Association. The Club will be given the option to choose their teams by any method. Some clubs may choose their players on a point system. Some may be top finishers in a Club Championship, by conducting a qualifying tournament, or by a selection committee. Again it is the Club's option.
The Club will choose one player in each category: >Club Professional, Teaching Professional or Assistant Professional >Amateur Golfer - will use gross scores >Senior Amateur - will use gross scores (ages 50 and over) >A Net Amateur Golfer (player must have a USGA certified handicap index)
Players who compete on a college level are not eligible to compete in this event.
Based on the USGA Men's State Team format, in which each team fields four players, with only the best three scores counted each round.
No individual prizes will be awarded. The Champions will receive the Club Team Traveling Trophy.
