August 8 - 101.1 ESPN - It's US Women's Amateur week on The Back Nine Radio show with the semifinal matches taking place on Saturday and 36 hole final on Sunday at Old Warson Country Club.
Dr. Tobin Lingafelter of The Back and Neck Care Center of Sunset Hillsjoined the guys for 2 hours of golf talk. Dustin, Adam and Troy tackled a myriad of topics, including the US Women's Amateur, Fred Funk's performance at the US Senior Open, Tiger back in the winners circle at the Buick Invitational and Paddy has returned at Bridgestone.
Alexis Thompson, looking to become the youngest champion of the US Women's Amateur Championship, has the best resume of the final four still in action at Old Warson Country Club. David Shefter of the USGA joined the show to preview the semifinal matches and to share the feedback he's received on Old Warson Country Club this week. David also played Bellerive Country Club this week and had positive things to say about Bellerive. Bellerive Country Club will play host to the Metropolitan Amateur Championship next week.
The Bogeyman, Dan O'Neill has also been covering the US Women's Amateur this week. The Bogeyman is coming off a week at the US Senior Open and will be headed to the PGA Championship next week where St. Louisan Bob Gaus will be in action.
