July 12, 2009 - Jefferson City, MO - Golf Channel's, Rich Lerner, will headline the Missouri Golf Association's Father-Son Championship July 26-28. Up to 140 two person Father-Son tandems will compete in the 36-hole event over two premier championship golf courses, The Club at Porto Cima and Witches Cove.

As far as Matt Miller was concerned, 40 holes of golf Thursday at Dalhousie Golf Club might have been one hole too many.

July 16 - Norman, OK - Jace Long may someday look back at the summer of 2009 and remember it as the summer he took his golf game to the next level. Every great player has a moment in time when they realize they have the skill to play this game and play it at a very high level.

Ping Golf Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John Solheim, who earlier this week called on the U.S. Golf Association to abandon its new rule on grooves, said he wasn't surprised the PGA Tour on June 30 sided with the USGA in its decision to impliment the new rule next year for Tour and USGA instead of waiting until 2011.

Mike Small, the golf coach at the University of Illinois, edged Mark Sheftic and Steve Schneiter by a shot to win the PGA Professional National Championship on Wednesday. Small, who also won the title in 2005, finished at 7-under 277 after a final-round 68 at Twin Warriors.
