Mid America Junior Cup

Some of the area's top junior golfers will attempt to defend the MAGA's hold on the Mid-America Junior Cup, Oct. 25-26, at Glen Echo Country Club. Eight juniors will represent the MAGA against a team of juniors from the Kansas City Golf Association in two days of Ryder Cup-syle matches.
The MAGA team includes: Shaina Rennegarbe, Okawville, Ill.; Molly Edwards, St. Charles, Mo.; Adam Welch, Chesterfield, Mo.; Joe Migdal, Ballwin, Mo.; Sami Khan, St. Peters, Mo.; Haelena Schwemmer, O'Fallon, Mo.; Bryce Dolan, Washington, Mo.; and Ben Crancer, Kirkwood, Mo. The event features two days of team matches, four-ball matches on Saturday afternoon and foursomes matches on Sunday morning.
This year marks the 10th playing of the event between the top juniors in the state. The KCGA team includes: Henry Simpson, Allison Forristal, Morgan Cross, Katie Morel, Ian Boat, Jackson Foth, Ryan Zech and Gianna Misenfelter. Last year at Loch Lloyd, the team's finished in a 4-4 tie. The MAGA squad, who won in 2006, retained the cup with the tie. Matches begin at noon on Saturday and at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning.
