Two Players Break 70 in First Round at MAGA Championship

Ballwin, MO - August 12 - Two players break 70 on a hot and humid day at Meadowbrook Country Club at the 2010 Metropolitan Amateur Championship.
Kyle Kahlenberg posted 6 birdies and 3 bogeys in route to posting the first 68 on the board. Eli Grant, a member at Meadowbrook Country Club, matched the 6 birdie, 3 bogey performance to finish the first round tied for the lead.
Defending Champion and 8-time MAGA Player of the Year, Skip Berkmeyer had 2 birdies and 4 bogeys in a first round 73 and is tied for 9th after the first round. Moloney, who played with Berkmeyer in the final round of last year's Metropolitan Amateur Championship is again in contention for the area's premier major championship after a 72 on Thursday.
