The Kansas City Area is anxiously awaiting the opening of Missouri's first Greg Norman Signature Course Design with Stone Canyon Golf Club in Independance, Missouri, just east of downtown.  Stone Canyon will feature the Norman Design and is anticipated to open as a Private Club, but final decisions on any open play being available in 2009 is still in the works. 

Norman himself is very involved with the design having made multiple visits to the site with at least one more visit planned in 2009.  In addition to a memorable golf experience, Stone Canyon will offer 200+ home sites starting in the $400's.  While it will be a golf course community, only 5 or 6 of the holes are expected to have homesites along the course.  The 12th hole is expected to be the feature hole of the club providing views of the 11th, 13th, 17th and 18th holes and a unique horseshoe shaped stone landscape surrounding the green.

Norman's signature design traits are expected to be incorporated into the course to include closely mown green surrounds, creative bunkering and landscape accents that pay homage to some of the great courses of the world.  Norman Design has courses currently open, under construction or in planning stages in over 30 countries, worldwide, but there are only 35 courses in the United States which will provide a truly unique experience for golfers in the Mid-West when Stone Canyone opens next Spring.
