A pair of 68's has positioned Bellarmine University at the top of the leaderboard through one round at the Tritons Invitational hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Seven of the top Division II golf programs in the region are competing over 36 holes at The Landings Golf Course in Chesterfield, MO, October 13-14.

Kyle Leach and Brooks Herrick lead the field at 4-under par (68) en route to helping Bellarmine post a 282 (6-under) team total. Bellarmine leads Wisconsin Parkside by 6 shots and Drury University by 10. Host, University of Missouri-St. Louis is in 4th after one round at 294, one shot ahead of Northern Kentucky University and two in front of Lincoln University. A total of 4 teams are seperated by only 4 shots with St. Joseph's University trailing the pack at 308.

UMSL sophomore, Tim Cochran, is tied for 5th at 1-under par, 71. UMSL newcomer, Ryan Gunn fired an even par 72 after an outgoing nine of 39 to then comeback with a 3-under par 33 on the incoming nine. Gunn started his round with a 3-putt bogey on the 1st hole and another 3-putt for double bogey on the par 5 second hole. A string of birdies late in his round produced Gunn's low nine holes of the semester and positioned him nicely for a run at the individual title on Tuesday.

Other UMSL Scores:

Ryan Penfield - 76
Matt Winslow - 75
J.R. Siracusa - 77

Individuals:

Ryan Higgins - 79
Paddy Kerr - 81
Luigi Wewege - 87
Tim Swoboda - 77
